The Peters Township
Chamber of Commerce
was incorporated in November 1954 as a non-profit organization of business and professional people joined together for the purpose of encouraging the growth and improvement of the area through promoting the commercial, industrial, civic and general interests. With a vision for our community, a group of fifteen gentlemen brought about the formation of the chamber and served as its first board of directors.
The township was primarily a farm community until the 1950's. The urban expansion along Route 19 and the availability of land increased the population to 3,000. Fifty years later our commercial corridor is brimming with a variety of business and professional people. With a population of over 20,000, Peters continues to attract new residents due to our excellent school system, low taxes, numerous amenities, and spacious wooded building lots.
